S330 motion detection is really poor, even at max setting. What am I missing? (comparing to Arlo)

I’ve been using three S330 for a few months now, two positioned outside and one indoors. The quality of the image is fine, streaming is fine, but. I’m really disappointed with the motion detection.

I can walk right past the camera several times without it reacting. I basically have to stand 1–2m right infront of the camera waving my hands and arms for it to detect me and start recording or trigger the alarm.

Attaching an image taken today, when I was walking up towards my summer house, where the cameras are located. Standing right infront of the camera taking a picture of it, and even though the camera is armed it doesn’t notice me, doesn’t record anything and doesn’t trigger the alarm.

All cameras are set to 7 (Highest) motion detection value and the power mode is set to “Optimal battery life”

Is this working as intended or am I missing something here? Compared to Arlo, that I’m using on my other house, which picks up any small motion, it being a person or an animal. Well compared to that, this pretty much sucks.

Well I guess I should have searched the forum before I posted this. Classic. Seems like motion detection is really really poor on these devices. Well anyways, if anyone comes up with an answer or a solution to improve this, please reply.

Hi,
A lot of PIR motion detector sensors don’t work well with straight on movement towards them until you get really close to them.
They work a lot better when movement crosses their path from side to side.

I suggest aiming your camera on an angle towards the side yard a little bit to see if it improves motion detection.
