Solar Panel tests good, not detected

New S-340 camera works well but solar panel not detected. I bench tested the panel and it has strong output with direct sunlight even in winter but output falls off rapidly off angle or with less intensity - yet the camera fails to detect it when plugged in. Camera charges normanlly via USB - is this just a connector issue with the panel? It worked briefly when I first set it up.

Low mine did that at first, give it a minute it’ll recognize it… also I’d recommend getting a better solar panel than the one equipped with the camera…
I ended up having to wire mine, because the panel wasn’t cutting it…

Confirmed it is a connector issue. The USB-C plug on the Solar Panel has a seal around the back of the body and if you don’t use enough force to push it in all the way, in it won’t connect. It’s easy to casually push it in and think its fully connected. For those that have discovered the little red asterisk on the “my Devices” page image, selecting it instructs the user to “3. Make sure the wiring is firmly connected”. Once the connector is fully mated, the panel should be detected. The Solar Panel has high output but is highly directional so it has to get enough direct sunlight to adequately charge the battery.
