Weird night time distortion in live feed

I am using the Indoor Cam. The picture I am seeing when the room is dark at night has a weird distortion in the middle. I’ve attached what it looks like. Does anyone know what causes the distortion and how it might be fixed?

You may have a light pointing at the camera.

The camera is in the large worship space of a church with a high ceiling. There are some windows that would let in some light from outside but no bright lights. Using my app from home I rotate the camera and the distortion remains the same, which it should not when the camera is facing away from the windows, if the windows are the problem. I need to visit the church at night to make in-person observations. Unfortunately I live in another town so it’s a bit of a drive. I’ll do it if I can’t solve the problem remotely. I wonder if the infrared beams emitted by the camera have something to do with the problem?

Hello,
Well since you had rotated the camera via the app and the image remains the same either camera is defective or you may just need to clean the lens of the camera, the infrared beam may just be bouncing off a spec of debris on the lens.
But the image you provided has that anomaly dead center in the picture which leads me to believe the camera itself is defective…

Well, I feel really stupid. When I wiped the camera with a wet paper towel, as Eufy support suggested in response to an email I sent them, the clear plastic film covering the camera that is shipped with the camera and is supposed to be removed by the user before using the camera, became visible. I removed it and that fixed the problem. Did I mention that I feel really stupid?

No need to be… It happens to the best of us.
Sometimes you can’t even tell/see if it has a plastic film protector that needs to be removed, like on tablets and solar panels to name a few…

What we do appreciate is…. You told us what was wrong. Many people use these forums to help them diagnose problems. This helps everyone.
