Hi folks,
this seems very strange to me.
I have a Doorbell 340 connected to my Homebase 340, and wired to my existing, mechanical chime. everything works fine so far, except when I enable the pre-capture feature my mech. chime stops working, no ‘ding-dong’. There is sound on the doorbell itself, my phone and the homebase though. When I disable pre-capture, my mech. chime works perfectly.
I was wondering if this is a power issue or a bug?
Thanks

Hard to say, might be a bug. Then again the doorbell is now requiring more power for pre-capture. Is the doorbell actually recording 3-6 seconds prior when motion is detected?
What’s the power output rating on your transformer?
Thanks for the reply. I had a closer look at the transformer. It’s really old stuff, like 40 years old, and only provides 8V, not sure about the VAs. But I think that’s the culrpint. The doorbell works find without pre-recording, so I’ll stick to it as it is.

Yes, it most likely is…
Depending on the doorbell specs.
8-24 volts or 16-24 volt 30 VA or higher for it to perform well.
The doorbell power requirements are printed on the back of the doorbell.
