Alexa Doorbell Notifications Stopped - Again

For the last few days, my Alexa devices no longer announce when motion is detected by my doorbell. The alerts pop up straight away in the Eufy App but nothing from Alexa. This was an issue that was fixed some time ago but it seems to have broken again. Is anyone else seeing this?

I’ve sorted it out. It may have been something to do with adding an Indoor Cam C220 to my Eufy devices. Both were working fine with the Eufy App but no Alexa communications. This morning I disabled the Eufy Security Alexa Skill, deleted both devices from Alexa and then let Alexa detect them again and set them up again from scratch. This seemed to do the trick as both are now triggering Alexa “Motion Detected” announcements.

Well, seems I spoke too soon! After one day, Alexa announcements stopped working again so had to go through the same Skill disable/setup process again. It’s working now but the app definitely seems dodgy to say the least. Most times when I connect over mobile 4G when away from home, it won’t connect to the doorbell and throws up a -3 error. Even when I’m connected over WiFi at home it sometimes struggles to play the live video stream. I have Mesh so the App reports excellent connection to both the door bell and chime unit. When it can be bothered to display it, the streaming speed varies between around 30 to 60 kB/s which seems pretty slow. Anyone else having similar issues?

Hiya there have you tried disabling the skill on the Alexa app and then enabling it again :grinning:

If you read my post youll see that’s exactly what I’ve done - twice!
