I have searched several days & found tips on setting up Wi-Fi (below), but there is no Wi-Fi choice after the initial HBP S1 setup only ethernet.
There is nothing I could find on switching from Ethernet to Wi-Fi.
This all I could find but there is no Wi-Fi choice.
HomeBase can be switched to a Wi-Fi connection in the Device Tab > Select HomeBase > HomeBase Settings > General> Wi-Fi Connection
That is correct, I have tried many time & no joy every time.
I asked a eufy engineer about this & their reply was:
I’m sorry for the limitation here, but to clarify clearly: the HomeBase Professional (HBP) only supports a wired Ethernet connection. It cannot be switched to Wi Fi, either during setup or after it has already been configured. The Ethernet connection is required by design, and there’s currently no option to change this to a wireless connection.
reminds me of when the HomeBase3 first came out, it didn’t have Wi-Fi capability at first.
It could be a HB3 situation where it technically can connect to wifi but needs an future update to enable it. Though I wouldn’t count on it because I think it needs an ethernet connection because of the PoE capability the HBP offers.
You know jd, I found a work-around for this problem so I wouldn’t have to string a Ethernet wire through the attic. My routers are all eero type & I read about this so I tried it since I had a extra eero Pro7 sitting in the garage.
The eero Pro7 can be used as a wireless router as long as one has the eero main/base station connected to the ISP ethernet wire & since the eero transmits a Wi-Fi signal quite far.
This is what I did, I placed the (extra) eero router next to the HBP & connected them w/ a 2ft ethernet cable. So now the eero receives the Wi-Fi signal & is connected to the HBP w/ a ethernet cable. It Works, I am getting ATM 3 bars on 3 cameras & 4 bars on 2 cameras. I think I’ll keep it.
Very clever, as long as your wireless access point has an Ethernet port and you connect the HBP to it it thinks it’s directly connected to your router.
