Doorbell doesn

Doorbell doesn’t chime on homebase or phone, luckily someone started pounding on a door somewhere as soon as he left which alerted me.

Hey, sounds like a really frustrating situation, especially with a security device you’re meant to rely on. Here are a few things you might want to check:

  1. Notification Settings (Phone): Make sure notifications are enabled in both the Eufy Security app and your phone’s system settings. Double-check that the doorbell is selected for push notifications in the app.
  2. Chime Settings on HomeBase: Go into the app and check if the HomeBase is selected as the indoor chime. You can also adjust the volume/tone in there — sometimes it’s just set really low or muted.
  3. Wi-Fi Connection: Check the signal strength to the doorbell in the Eufy app. If it’s weak or borderline, it could be causing delay or failure to trigger alerts.
  4. Firmware Updates: Make sure both the doorbell and HomeBase are up to date with the latest firmware. You can check this in the app.
  5. Restart Everything: Try restarting the HomeBase (unplug it briefly) and rebooting the doorbell if possible. Sometimes that resolves temporary glitches.
  6. Event Logging: Are motion or ring events being logged in the app? If not, the doorbell might not be registering the button press — could point to a hardware issue.
  7. Reset and Re-add: If nothing else works, try removing the doorbell from the app, doing a factory reset (hold the sync button for about 10 seconds), and adding it back as a new device.

If you’ve already tried all that, it might be worth contacting Eufy support — especially if the doorbell isn’t registering rings at all. Could be a fault with the button hardware.

Hope it’s working fine now

Still not chiming on the phone might on the homebase which is downstairs and everyone spends most of their time upstairs. Homebase used to be upstairs but had to move it when all of the cameras started going offline, the move was really to satisfy Eufy support so they’d stop suggesting it was too far away. Plan on buying a wireless chime, saw they have a few combos with one but the one only works with a particular doorbell cam, but then saw my exact doorbell cam with one on sale. I’ll try to find the chime on Amazon since looks like the one paired with my doorbelll cam can’t be purchased individually on eufy.

You might as well check your settings on the phone and allow eufy notifications. It is worth a try.

They’re allowed, I get everything but the doorbell chimes. There’s actually no setting in the app to make it chime on my phone, but it used to?

Android or iPhone?
Are you saying that it’s not listed in the Doorbell Settings under Notifications?
Here’s a screenshot of mine towards the bottom you should see Ring Alerts

If it’s not shown then maybe the app is having a glitch??
Try logging out of the app and then log back in?

Knocking. What a novel method of alerting you of your package delivery. Amazing innovation!

Yeah it’s not in the app for me. Just to chime in the homebase. iPhone.

I think you might be in the homebase settings?

Tap on the three dots … On the image of the doorbell view.

Nope, doorbell settings used to have chime on phone, no longer there. Maybe it’s the camera being one of the cheaper ones, they may have removed it with an update (like how some companies force you into upgrading) can’t remember if it’s C or S, need to look at my registered devices, the number from device info pulls up both models.

I’ll get a couple wireless doorbell chimes eventually no one else wants to bother with the app anyway, so even if I fix it not chiming on my phone, they still need to be alerted.

I’ll probably move the homebase back upstairs anyway since it was not what was causing the cameras to go offline, since the last update seems to have resolved that (knock on wood).

Just changed the app notification from default to beacon, maybe it’ll do something now?
