Why does my E330 go out every time it rains hard but comes back on a few days later? It is mounted under the eve of the house.
Hi
Even though it’s under the eaves, wind-driven rain can sometimes sneak in.
Here are some things to check:
Possible Causes:
- Water might be getting in around cable entry points or housing seals.
- Humidity can cause temporary internal short circuits or fogging.
- External power connections might not be fully weatherproof.
Suggestions:
- Double-check seals and connections. Waterproof tape or a junction box can help.
- Adjust the camera angle to reduce splash exposure.
- Make sure your camera’s firmware is up to date.
- If these don’t help, or even before trying, consider emailing Eufy support – they’re usually pretty helpful!
Check any problem in the power supply for E330 during rains hard.
Power supply is fine. I think water is getting in the camera in a hard rain or condensation. Camera will come back on in 1-2 days. May move it further under the eve. I had Arlo’s that never did this.
Just visually inspect the camera to see if you can see any humidity or moisture around the camera lens.
Double check the cable connections for a tight seal.
Power adapter is it mounted inside the home or outside in a weather tight enclosure?
Power supply is in the attic
If you believe the camera is the issue, and it’s still under warranty… You should go ahead and request a replacement.
It can be done through the app, open the sidebar and tap on Support.
Then E-warranty Card
And then select your device.
The original camera (11 months) died and this is the replacement. Works fine as long as it does not get rained on.
There is a problem, I would suggest contacting Eufy support. If the replacement is within a year of you receiving it. I think you could be due for another replacement. it’s best to send them an email regarding this problem. Their engineer team will investigate.
