My E340 doorbell is unable to detect any events. It says the local SD storage is full (it says 0mb free AND 0mb used… which makes no sense by the way.) Is the SD card that Eufy sent having a problem?
I’ve tried to format the local storage multiple times via the Eufy app, it usually fails with an unable to connect error. But I am able to see the live video of the doorbell and change other settings without an issue, so the connectivity is not a problem. The SD card is the one that Eufy supplied. I’ve also tried to restart the doorbell via the SYNC button on the doorbell itself (since there is no way to restart the doorbell remotely via the Eufy app… why not Eufy? very inconvenient)
Context: the doorbell was recently installed (a week ago) and it worked for a few days but stopped capturing and sending events today. I have it wired to a 30VA transformer which I’ve confirmed is sending adequate power via the Eufy app.
Are the new events not even overwriting old ones? When the SD storage is full, new videos should automatically overwrite the oldest ones. If you have tried formatting, I would then try restarting through the Device Settings. If this problem continues after that, I would advise reaching out to Customer Support for further trouble shooting.
There is no way to restart the E340 doorbell from the device settings in the Eufy security app. It’s possible with the other eufy devices, but for some reason Eufy has not made a “restart” button available for the E340 doorbell in the app.
I’ve already logged an issue with the support team.
I don’t have the mini chime or home base. What I meant by SD card is the “local storage” on the E340 doorbell. I mistakenly assumed it was achangeable / upgradeable micro SD, but it’s not.
Regardless… the doorbell entered an inconsistent state where it stayed the local storage was both full and empty (lol.)
I was able to resolve it by resetting the doorbell and going through the setup process all over again. Pretty painful.
Really disappointed thtmat there is no “restart device” button for the E340 doorbell in the eufy app. Seems like a big oversight for a simple quality of life feature that is likely very easy to add programmatically.
