Eufy homebase 3 is not recording events not sending notifications

Hi
I have had same problem. But when i checked DEVICE CONTROL UNDER SECURITY i found that it was set to disarm, so when i set it to home it did resume recording and everything is OK

So has anyone found a fix?

I have exactly the same issue.
3 cameraā€™s and multiple shock sensors.
The shock sensors still record events.
But no camera is recording events or sending out notifications.

I found the solution, sorry i forgot to post here. The reason is that Homebase 3 does a very bad job keeping cool the HD. So, it will hurt the HD after some days of working. Once the HD start failing over temperature, there is little you can do. My solution:

  1. Buy a new HD Or try with your current HD in case it is not damaged, In my case i reuse the same HD and it is fine.
  2. Buy a SATA extension male-female,
  3. Connect the extension by carefully pushing the extension inside the Homebase 3 HD slot (I use some chopsticks),
  4. Connect your HD to the extension so the HD is outside the homebase and out of any burning!!!

I did it and my disk has been working since then

I donā€™t even have a hard disk inside my homebase and still have this issue.
It previously worked and notified me of events which I could rewatch.
Now I see my camera following me but no notification, no event.
Super frustrating. All settings seem like it should work.
Even tried re-adding my device.

Well, my devide start failing once i put the HD, looks like it internal memory was ok. Perhaps your internal memory is failing as it was my HD. Get a extension and use a HD to see if that fix the issueā€¦ to me, the overhead is the issue.

My HB3 has just started not recording as of 12.30 pm yesterday. My HD is at 48% used my HB1 is working fine. I have a 1TB HD and have tried restarting the HB with 2 cameraā€™s recording for approx 2 mins. Iā€™ll try and remove the HD when I get home and see if that helps. Where do you buy the extension for the HD. Iā€™m in Australia. The cameraā€™s work of I use live view just no recording or notifications.

I have a similar issue with my Homebase 380.
But I think that the issue is time based somehow.

For example, I think, that the system seems to be working just fine in the afternoon/evening.
But in the morning, from about 8AM-12 it is not triggering/recording.

My system and all cameras are set to trigger/record 24/7.

I am not exactly sure when it stops working, and at what time it start working again.
But I am 100% sure, that it is having problems during that period.

There might be other periods as well.
But I just donā€™t have time to test it every hour of the dayā€¦

Same issue here. We only bought our cameras (a pair of S220s and an indoor cam) and Homebase 3 about 6 weeks ago to replace our Ring system.

Today I witnessed a group of people breaking & entering the house behind me. Police came and caught all of them but they want to use my video for Court. Surprise surprise, there is no video thanks to this damn Homebase issue. I was able to watch the break-in happen and the Police response, but there are no events. Tried going in separately on the app & web browser, but no joy. To say Iā€™m mad would be an understatement. I donā€™t have an extra drive hooked up, just the Homebase 3 with 90% free storage.

Seriously considering just sending the lot back and paying for another year of Ring. Their service is annoying but at least it records serious events when I need it to.

Same issue here i think. Stored videos are not visible in the app. I tried to remove and reconnect the cam without succes.

After removing and reinstalling the (android) app i found my fix, happy again.

That was also my solution to the problem I discovered today (i.e. stored videos from HB3 not visible in the app). The problem started when the android app applied an update over the existing installation. The only way I could get it working again was to do a complete un-install and re-install of the appā€¦Thank you cam5044 for your tip.

That was the solution. You do not need to remove the app tough. Go to apps, go to the eufy security app. Go to storage. And remove cache and data. (Both, cache only is not enough).

That fixed my problem. (Had it on multiple android devices)

Been dealing with this all week.

Iā€™ve reinstalled the app, logged out and back in, cleared app storage and data.

Problem comes back a day later. Really frustrating

I guess that will erase all my saved videos.
What happened with me is that I bought a 1TB hard drive, installed it and forgot to format it. Later I did and it still does not record events. I did notice that the unit was a bit warm which I never noticed before. Above post mentioned warm temperature damages unit.

I fixed the problem. I deleted the Eufy App and reinstalled it and the event recordings showed up.

Same problem here, after working fine for 2 weeks from purchase my EufyCam S330 cameras (Two) and Wall Light T81A0 and Video Doorbell E340 are not sending notifications or recording events. I have a powered wall light T84A1 also, and that is sending notifications and recording events. All are connected to Homebase 3. I have tried all the fixes suggested in this helpful thread.

I went on to Live Chat just now who said this is a known issue and will be corrected in the next 10 working days with an update.

I asked if there is anything about this ā€œknown issueā€ on their website they said no. I said ā€œwowā€.

I feel like this may be a fob off - but I guess I have to stop trying things and wait!

Update, I did try a thing, and it turned out to be a good thing. I removed the SSD I had installed in the HB3, all notifications and events recording have resumed again. Must have been an issue with that, I guess. Well letā€™s see.

Problem always comes back for me without warning. I have to keep checking and rebooting the Homebase when it stops working.
The only reliable workaround I found is to disable all AI Empowerment features so that cameras donā€™t use the Homebase for human, pet, vehicle detection.
So I have a lot less detection now, but itā€™s not locking up frozen every 3 hours like before.

I had this issue. Only my solo cmas were sending notifications and recording. Turns out in my case when I clicked the security button at the bottom of the app that my homebase was in disarmed mode. I set it back to a different mode and made sure the settings for that mode turned on recording and notifications. I guess the last update set it to disarmed without me knowing or maybe I accidentally did it but now everything works fine.

As Post above I also had similar problems cameras all connected everything has been working and recording fine.

For me it turned out the setting under Homebase 3 was set to Disarmed

On the App page at he bottom select Security
Under Device Control Select the Basestation

My setting was set to Disarmed
Change to Home
Now recording as designed
