eufy HomeBase S380 Recording problems

I have 5 eufy cameras not all the same type connected to my
Eufy Homebase S380.
Worked great for a good while the suddenly it stopped sending notifications and recordings.
I have a strong wifi and tried reformat, reset, and even fitted a new hard drive.
I now sometimes get the odd notification, but no recordings.
Checked all settings on the cameras just to be sure.
I know this is not a new problem but is there a solution??

Has the problem resolved itself?
If not, I would try rebinding one of the cameras to the HomeBase to see if that one camera will function properly with notifications and recording onto the HB3.

Open the app and then select that one camera settings> Remove Device.
Then add that camera back to the app as if it’s like a new camera.

Or maybe… Just trying a restart/reboot of your home’s Wi-Fi router may fix it?

Thank you JD.

Yes I have reset everything, and so far so good.

The notifications to my iPhone are slower - maybe 2 or 3 minutes, whereas before they were almost immediate.

The only camera I cannot pair with the Homebase is my WIRED EUFY 330 4K professional camera.

It is on the outside wall, about 6metres from the Homebase.

It is screwed to the wall and the wire runs through the wall to an inside plug in the house.

I am loathe to take it all ‘apart’ to bring it in to pair it.

I was wondering if I got a Eufy Security Wi-Fi Repeater / Extender, placing it near the WIRED EUFY 330,

would it pair from the Eufy extender??

I am not sure how the Homebase extender works.

My wifi is connected to the Homebase and the Homebase ‘projects’ its own signal , separate to my Fritz!Box WIFI?

How will the Eufy extender work??

Asssming you pair Eufy extender to the Fritz!Box WIFI, will that Eufy Extender project’ the HOMEBASE WIFI??

I think it’s because it’s going through the base if you just use the camera by itself it should be better

The eufy extender/ repeater T8024 should work if it’s compatible with that camera..
Seems it’s a bit difficult to purchase though (out of stock) the Home Depot says they have it..
Instead of removing that camera to pair it to the HomeBase, you could temporarily move the HB3 closer to the camera and then try pairing it
Which camera do you have, multi-bridge might be an option to use if that camera has the capability

Eufy E330 Professional Add On Security Camera 4K wired with wall plug.

I would try the multi-bridge with that camera as it is capable to do so.
If the Wi-Fi connection between the HomeBase and camera are weak.

Multi-Bridge feature allows cameras to directly connect to the routers Wi-Fi network as a bridge, kind of like a repeater and will transfer the cameras information to the HomeBase.

After linking/pairing the camera to Homebase 3, you can set up Multi-Bridge Wi-Fi in Device Setting → General → Wi-Fi connection.

Excellent JD.
Thank you.

Hey, Henry let me know how it works out. Hopefully without a hitch…
If you need more info on how to set up Multi-Bridge just do a Google search on it… Eufy security Multi-Bridge.

Hi JD.
I bit the bullet and removed the camera from the outside wall.
I brought it in to pair it, and all went well.
It is now working fine.
There is not a multi-bridge option on the app, but you have the choice to pair with the Homebase or the
Home wi-fi?
Thanks for all your help, my friend!!

Okay cool, so now it’s connected to the HomeBase?
Here’s a how to web link to multi-bridge in case you need it.
Also, the HomeBase might automatically prompt you to engage it.

Thank you!

This is actually a pretty common issue with HomeBase 3.

If live view still works but you get no recordings/notifications, it’s usually one of these:

  1. Security mode changed
Check if your system is maybe on Disarmed / Home mode where recording is off.
This is one of the most common reasons.

  2. Motion detection settings
    Even if it looks OK:

  3. Restart everything (important)

Temporary fixes like this often bring it back (many users report this).

  1. Firmware / software bug
    There have been cases where:

Sometimes happens after updates and affects multiple users.

  1. Storage bug (even with new drive)
Even if you replaced the HDD:

This has been reported by others with S380 as well.

Thank you.
It is all sorted now.
Thank you for your response.

Have you tried upgrading the storage in the Homebase?

Thank you Neil.
It is fine just now - fingers crossed.
I reset everything and started again.
Re-paired all the cameras.
I bought a Eufy Signal extender which I paired with my Homebase and placed it at the far
side of the house.
It works great.
