Hi all, sorry for the what looks to be a repeat question:
I have a new Homebase 3 and two E330 professional cameras. I have purchased and installed a Seagate 2TB drive. I have formatted the drive and installed/reinstalled it a couple of times. The E330 still doesn’t show the ability to record 24/7. Also, it doesn’t show “Edge Connection” in the camera portion.
Kind of at my wits end trying to trouble shoot this.
Okay, that’s weird…
You have a hard drive in there and it shows it on the HB3 that it’s installed and you see the available storage of it.
You probably already done this, try restarting the HB3. Remove the power cord from the rear of the HB3 and also the ethernet cable if you have one connected, wait 5 minutes then plug it back in see what happens.
Did you format the disk… it has to be formated to the HBS software system…
In no computer wiz on the Homebase it’ll look like this and then hit format…
I don’t think them Seagate drives are any good… I put a western digital in mine…
Recommendation say try samsund, WT, sand disk and I think there’s one more that pretty good… but you can get them western digital fairly cheep on ebay… I got a 1 TB For $60… and it works fine… brand new…
Ya I check out the recommended disk and drives… She said that you should be okay with sea gate, but recommended the other brands I mentioned above…
She also recommends shying away from the other brands listed on the owners guide, especially Toshiba…
Thank you both for the help/replies. Can either one of you suggest another drive I should buy? I don’t have any others at home. I would probably source it from Amazon.
Post back on what you decide to choose and if the HomeBase issue is resolved.
There is one other thing that you could try, that is resetting the HB3 back to factory, but that would involve setting it back up again and syncing your devices back to it.
