HomeBase Professional S1 thoughts on it?

Hi All,

I have been looking at the HomeBase Professional S1. Has anyone got the S1 and is it worth the upgrade from Hub 3? I have read good nad bad reviews on it. Main issues is it worth spending the extra money, compatibility issues with older cameras, AI upgrade later (costs more) and the Sim card extra costs.

Same sort of thoughts here. The HB Pro is not really an “upgrade”, more of a sideways move. I found getting the cameras to transfer over worked well in the app but NONE of the two-years worth of AI data would migrate, which makes a bit of a mess of the reason to update. The lack of the AI Core makes it no better than the HB3, so unless you have too many cameras for the HB3 to support, I’d stay put right now.
Also, the HB Pro does not accept 2.5 inch HDDs or SSDs, only 3.5 inch! No way to use the HDD/SSD from the HB3 as there is no caddy or converter provided. If it would accept the drive, then a simply swap could have resolved all the camera and data problems.
Ball officially dropped.

As an aside, the HB Pro is also running incredibly hot; not just warm but hot, hot, HOT!
No way I can put it in the loft where the HB3 lived happily for nearly two years.
This is a serious cooling issue and with the forced 3.5 inch HDD, rather than the HB3 2.5 inch SSD, it is only making matters worse.
I may just return the HB Pro and go back to the HB3. It really is that marginal.

Yes thanks for your thoughts, this is what alot of people are saying. So I am avoiding the upgrade now.
