1.Before You Begin
Make sure your face is uncovered, and your facial features and outlines are clearly visible. Keep the facial recognition area of FamiLock‑E40 clean and free from dust or any obstruction.
2.Recommended Recognition Distance
The optimal recognition range is 1.6 ft – 2.6 ft. Since everyone’s height differs, you can adjust your position according to the voice guidance.
If you are closer than 1.3 ft or farther than 3.3 ft, the system may not detect your face.
3.Improve Accuracy
Adding multiple facial profiles — such as with different outfits, makeup, or lighting conditions — will greatly enhance recognition precision.
Follow the illustrated steps below to add new facial data easily.
1.Detection Distance & Time Interval
The recognition range of FamiLock‑E40 is 1.3 ft – 3.3 ft; facial detection only activates within this distance.
After locking the door, the system pauses for 5 seconds before scanning again. This combination of distance and timing prevents accidental unlocking if you turn back right after locking the door.
2. Smart Recognition Tips
When multiple faces appear, FamiLock‑E40 prioritizes the largest (closest) face.
So when returning home with others, or while holding a baby, please position your face in the front.
In addition, direct sunlight on the sensor may cause overexposure and reduce facical recognition accuracy. You can raise your hand or slightly adjust your position to shade the sunlight.
3.Facial Recognition Mode Options
By default, FamiLock‑E40 automatically recognizes your face as you approach the door for quick entry. You can also change the setting to enable “Touch to Activate,” so facial recognition starts only after you touch the lock.
