I’ve recently

I’ve recently been tempted by the “upgrade” offer to move from my old S380 HomeBase to a new HomeBase Pro S1 and I’ve got to say it’s less of an upgrade than a sideways move.
Using the app, it was relatively easy to transfer across most of my camera but the older T84A1 wall light flatly refused and had to be unpaired and set up afresh.
Aside from that, the biggest issue with the move was that the HomeBase Pro had no obvious way to transfer two years of AI recognition and learning and I am back to square one with that. Not great for a unit advertised as the next best thing in AI.
The other major issue was that the 2.5 inch SSD I used in the S380 does not fit in the HB Pro; I know, ridiculous hardware decision. No caddy, no adaptor - nothing! The HB Pro only takes 3.5 inch SATA storage. Talk about behind the times!
The last issue is that the HB Pro runs incredibly hot …and I mean hot, hot HOT! Too hot for the S380 location.
Guess it’s going back to Eufy.
