Please can anyo

Please can anyone suggest what is wrong here?! I have the new version of the eufy video doorbell and installed that a couple of weeks ago thinking I could use my alexa echo as a door chime but couldnt get that to work.
I now bought the eufy chime but it won’t connect to the network. It is telling me to input correct password etc etc but I see nowhere to do this.
Many thanks for any help.

Did you click the plus in the right hand corner to add the chime ?

If the Eufy Chime unit is telling you it won’t connect…I’m guessing its due to no password entered in the setup steps on your phone.
I am not familiar with the Android setup but believe it runs close to the iPhone.

  1. Press the eufy icon on your cell phones display.
  2. Screen should change to where you see a “+” (plus) symbol in the upper right of the screen.
  3. Press the “+” and you should see 3 options: Add Device, Add Favorites, Scan QR code. Press the Add Device option.
  4. Your screen should change to say Device Family at the top of your phones screen. Scroll down the screen till you see Video Doorbell. Select MiniBase Chime.
  5. Screen should change to Add Device (located at the top of your phones screen). Select or ensure the network you want is check-marked to the right of the network name.
  6. Next button at the bottom of the screen should be blue. Press the Next button.
  7. You should see a black screen with the words Scan QR Code. Follow the instructions on the screen for QR code to trigger the device QR Code.
  8. You should hear a brief “chirp” sound when the QR Code is read and your phones screen will change explaining that it is recommended to install the device between the router and the device to ensure the best connection.
  9. You can skip the power pin installation. You’ve done that from your previous (initial) setup.
  10. Plug in the MiniBase Chime to a power outlet and place it in a position that the SYNC button on the chime is accessible. You should see in the middle of the unit a flashing LED in the middle of the chime. WAIT FOR THE LIGHT WHEN IT STOPS FLASHING. This will take less than a minute but unit will have a solid red LED light…BE PATIENT! You should hear a message from the chime “Welcome to eufy security…follow the instructions in eufy security app to setup the system”.
  11. Press and hold the SYNC button till LED changes to flashing green. You should hear a message from the chime, “Wi-Fi Doorbell chime is ready for setup”.
  12. When you get to this point…your phones screen should change explaining that the chime will create a temporary network so it can connect directly with your phone to finish the setup.
  13. Please ensure your Wi-Fi is turned on that you use for your phone and join to the EUFY devices network.
  14. Screen on your phone changes asking “eufy” Wants to Join Wi-Fi Network. Press Join on the screen.
  15. NOTE: If your router is password secured…ensure you have it handy for the next step.
  16. You should see on your phones screen Connecting…then screen will change again asking you to select the Wi-Fi device to connect to and input the password.
  17. Press confirm at the bottom of your screen. You should hear “Testing Wi-Fi Connection” from the chime unit. Then there will be a slight pause and then the chime unit reports “Wi-Fi doorbell chime has connected to Wi-Fi successfully”.

If your unit gets this far it should be good to go. There will be a message that the chime is now connected to the internet. This is in the event for firmware updates for the MiniBase chime.

As for the ALEXA portion of your message…I tried that too, and in my case…there was a long delay before ALEXA would report the doorbell was active.

I removed the ALEXA option as I believe its due to my VPN causing such a long delay to respond.

Thank you!
