SoloCam S340 AI Tracking Freeze🄶/Failure Tracking lock

Agreed :+1:

A Pan & Tilt camera should have zero problems with tracking as long as a person has been detected via PIR before they make it underneath the camera.

It’s a joke

Not sure how accurate the post is regarding the situation. Yet, if this is true , The A.I tracking has failed the most important part of this alleged crime recording

Very unfortunate. At least you have a good picture of his face. Hope you recover your bicycle.

Any news from Eufy Anker Support Team or Customer Service?

No news yet. Have you recieved any further response to your enquiry?

I submitted my request for assistance about the tracking failure two weeks ago. When I checked the Eufy Support site earlier this week, it no longer showed any record of me having submitted the enquiry — which is baffling.

I also have another unresolved issue with my 4G LTE Cam S330 and SoloCam S340 cameras. Both track vehicles and pedestrians distinctly outside the defined Activity Zone. The ticket for that matter was marked ā€œresolvedā€ after our local distributor deemed it was outside their scope of operation (which it clearly isn’t under our local consumer protection laws). So, I raised a third ticket to follow up on this claim.

I am still waiting for any meaningful response, other than an acknowledgment that my first 2 issues remain unresolved.

For context, I currently run 13 Eufy cameras, two HomeBase3 units (each with super-fast SSDs), and several Eufy Motion Sensors. I’ve also invested a few thousand dollars more by way of robust mounting hardware, SD cards, silicone covers, rain hoods, higher wattage solar panels, plus other hardware accessories to support the system.

This setup was always meant to be temporary until I installed a more complete PoE hard-wired solution — but, honestly, I’m fast losing faith in the Eufy ecosystem for my purposes.

This is what’s putting me off from investing in the tracking CCTV, more and more people are having this issue

I initially requested a replacement, then an updated version of the Pan & Tilt series. They offered a replacement or partial refund of $30

The Eufy Team then held a council meeting and decided on the best replacement for my current ecosystem.

They then confirmed that the E30 is an updated version of the SoloCam Solar variety and would suit my current ecosystem, based on my specifications.

Before they made the decision, I looked into E42 and the E30. By my research (Chat GPT & Youtube), many people (reddit) have confirmed that the pan & tilt tracking is a lot faster on the E30. I accepted the E30.

It came on Friday. And I did a couple of checks today. I’m happy with the tracking as listed below. It’s a lot better than the S340.

AI Tracking / Pan-Tilt Mechanism S340 VS E30

S340
Pan & tilt with dual lens, marketed for ā€œno blind spotsā€ and full coverage.

E30
Pan & tilt coverage, AI auto-lock and tracking

Based on the specs held up against each other. I’m losing a couple of things that I don’t mind, as my main problem was tracking people. And the zoom on the S340 and Duel Lens is nothing to write home about. I also go from 3k to 2k in resolution

The tracking is very good. Is this the eufy E30 Floodlight Security Camera that requires hard wiring?

:grimacing:

It’s the eufy Security SoloCam E30

Not sure if the specs are the same but minus the floodlight

The S340 can detect objects using its built-in AI chipset when it’s not paired with the S380. However, once it’s connected to HomeBase 3, all linked devices primarily rely on the S380’s local AI chipset for object detection and event processing.

Outdoor Eufy cameras connect directly to the S380’s hidden SSID to conserve power and ensure encrypted data transfer. Indoor Eufy cameras, on the other hand, may occasionally connect to your regular Wi-Fi access points through a multi-bridge connection, though this isn’t always consistent.

If your S340 still struggles to track objects smoothly, try running a calibration — that usually resolves most tracking issues.

I had to look up what you were referring to when you mentioned the ā€œS380ā€ i thought it was another camera model.

It’s not the detection in this case. It was the AI tracking. The AI tracking is supposed to centre on the person detected. And then follow the person when within range.

3 AI Tracking locks fails out of 9 cross passes.

I tested the E30 by moving past it closer to the House wall.

Well, the E30 looked promising to begin with – it was more responsive, but I can see it fails to track once you walk under the camera. I still have 2 open tickets but don’t expect I will have any joy with a resolution to my issues.
