Hello
I have been testing the AI tracking feature on the Eufy Floodlight Cam E340; and it generally works well during the day. However, during night mode; I’ve noticed that AI tracking frequently loses lock on moving subjects; especially humans, even when they’re within the motion zone and well-lit by the floodlight.
The camera momentarily follows the subject but then abruptly returns to its default position while the person is still in view.
This behavior persists even after adjusting sensitivity; defining motion zones clearly & ensuring the firmware is updated. It seems like the IR illumination or low-light algorithms may be impacting how the AI recognizes & continues tracking a subject in low-light scenarios. Strangely, motion detection still logs the event but tracking doesn’t persist.

Could this be a limitation in the AI tracking model for night mode / a bug in how it integrates with the IR and spotlight systems? It’s frustrating, especially when trying to apply principles from what is devops, where reliability & automation are key to seamless smart home setups.
If others have experienced this, are there workarounds like manually adjusting brightness levels or switching modes that help maintain tracking performance in low-light conditions?
Thank you !!
