Win the SoloCam E42 for Free! ☀️

I have several eufy cams and all of them struggle to get me clear videos especially at night. They really struggle. Also the motion tracking is kind of horrible and actually makes a lot of my videos useless

have been using the Eufy SoloCam E42 for some time, and I am very happy with it. The picture quality is clear, both in the day and at night. The camera is easy to install and set up without any extra tools. I like that it works without monthly fees, and the battery life is strong. The app is simple to use, and I can check my camera anytime from my phone. Overall, this camera gives me peace of mind and is a very good value for the price.

I have definitely had moments where I wished my security camera had even clearer video. The Eufy Solar Powered Camera S340 is impressive with its 3K resolution, and overall it does a great job capturing details. That said, I cannot help but wish it was a true 4K camera. It is great—but not quite perfect. I also think it doesn’t recording when off wifi which not great.

Years ago, I had someone recklessly park their car up on the curb in front of my house and bend the wrought iron fencing. It happened while everyone was out so no one saw it happen. A Eufy camera available back then would have helped me file a report for property damage and provide a license plate number and possibly a clear image of the driver. The fencing is still dented to this day. I fixed what I could manage but it would have been nice to get insurance involved to cover repair or replacement of the section. I now have my first Eufy camera out front to keep an eye on things. It’s given my family more peace of mind and the HomeBase3 gives us an archive to check in case of anything. I hope to expand coverage in the future with more Eufy products.

I have a S220 in the back yard and the front porch plus the door bell w/video and I like that I can talk to and hear them also but I would love to have a new one for better videos and clearer faces especially at night. THANK YOU FOR THE UPDATED VIDEO EGUIPMENT AND THE CHANCE TO WIN IT :+1::heart:

This is an AI generated comment, and you should’ve put some thought into it before just posting this because all of the security system cameras have these features, or most of the features you mentioned

I have the SoloCam 340 and it has been worth every penny and more to myself and to my community. I live in an apartment complex and use the solocam to watch the parking lot (more specifically; My Car) because even though I live in a nice community; it had become the target of less than reputable citizens in the past. In the past 3 years that I’ve been suing the solocam we have apprehended the culprits and recovered stolen vehicles in 5 out of 6 break-ins /thefts. This all happened in the first two years and this past year we have not had ANY more break-ins, thefts or vandalism’s in my complex. I have no complaints whatsoever and have been more than happy to assist local law enforcement in these cases. The only feature I would like to see available and more prevalent in the outdoor cam series are facial recognition so that once a potential threat is identified I can set the cam to sound an alarm or at least a critical notification should the identified person(s) ever return.

Overall there are only two requests I would inquire of Eufy and that would be to allow us to generate or receive brand new QR codes for each device in use should we need to ensure that anyone who may have had access to the devices before does not and cannot reconnect. Or at least allow us to have the ability to see what/who may be connected to the devices at any given time.

I will forever be a loyal fan of Eufy and all its products. I thank you guys so much and I appreciate you and all your hard work. God bless, and THANK YOU!

:one: Identifying license plates in view of the camera

I’m currently using the solar wall cam at the front of my house facing the street. It covers the cars on the driveway very well but regarding cars driving up and down the street, it would be nice if license plate recognition was better and clearer at a distance. Overall the quality is okay however if there were a way to improve clarity specifically for text then that would be great for identifying potential burglars who use a car to drive around and target houses. It would also help secure the entire street as my camera can be used to identify burglars that have targeted neighbours. The neighbours know I have a Eufy security camera and on a couple occasions neighbours have asked if I have any footage on a particular day where someone had tried to target their house. Being able to clearly identify a license plate is incredibly important when investigating a burglary.

:two: Features to improve deterring intruders

It would be great if the cameras (both live view and recordings) could load faster. This would be a great deterrent as it allows me and my family to identify potential burglars quicker and respond to the situation faster.
This is an issue that my family have all experienced with the solar wall cam (using both android and iPhones). It’s very important to be able to open the live view quickly when the camera captures movement (especially human movement) in view of the camera. This includes people entering the house or walking around the back of the house. If Eufy could prioritise improving loading times in the app, that would be a great way to deter intruders as it allows us all to respond quicker.

I have 2Eufy SoloCam S340s. Both have been running for ~150 days without being charged. My secret is I upgraded from the standard 2.6 watt solar panel to 6 watt panels purchased on Amazon. I tried 5, 6, 7 and 8 watt panels. I found the 7 and 8 watt panels were too bulky. The 5 and 6 watt panels both worked well and were similar in prices and size. I decided to keep the 6 watt panels.

As a deterrent a better design to allow a second swappable battery would reduce downtime. The ability to charge from a powerbank rather than having to remove the camera, take it inside and charge it via a wall socket would help.

Also, an obvious flashing red light when recording would deter thieves. Something so simple would make them run like racehorses

Besides recording, I’d love my camera to have smarter deterrence features that actually make intruders think twice. A loud customizable voice alert would be hilarious and effective (“Smile, you’re live on the internet!”). Pair that with flashing lights, maybe even a simulated dog bark option, and you’d cover 90% of break-ins. Nothing unnerves someone faster than thinking the house is awake and watching.

I am new to solar camera and have had zero issues. My secret is living in the south where it is sunny more frequently and that their solar tech is key. My only suggestion to the company would be to have more options for solar panel on the bullet camera. I would like to make my bullet camera more discrete under a breeze way up high and to have a solar panel separate in a different location.

A feature I would love to see in the SoloCam E42 is an integrated projection system where the mount itself doubles as a projector screen. The forward-facing lens would continue recording in flawless 4K, while the rear side of the mount becomes an active display surface. This allows the camera to project live warnings, homeowner images, or custom alerts without compromising video quality. It transforms security from passive monitoring into an interactive, high-visibility deterrent.

Yes, I especially wish I had clearer video in the night footage, I have had several instances of people on my property at night and it is difficult to get an accurate description sometimes due to the grainy nature of the video. Would love to win!

A built in siren, loud dog barking noise, or some other recorded voice yelling at intruders built into the cameras would be nice.

Recently I wished my security camera had even clearer video while I was on vacation. My car was parked in front of my house with my current camera’s activity zone created to monitor my car while away. Unfortunately I found out that my neighbor doesn’t care for me parking in front of my house and he proceeded to spit on my car while he walked by. It was hard to tell if that was actually what he was doing, but the evidence was there when I came back home from vacation with my family.

I always want the cleanest and sharpest video on my camera, not only for security but also for safety and entertainment. If you can’t see what is what in the video then you might as well not watch the video or record it

One late night, a car with a loud muffler pulled up and parked in front of our neighbor’s house. The driver stayed inside for a long time, flashing some suspicious lights. Then a woman came from down the street and got into the car. Our neighbors confronted them, and while they reported the incident to the police, no action could be taken. I wished our security camera had clearer video so we could see exactly what was happening inside the car and provide better evidence.

Having crisp, high-resolution footage can make a difference in understanding suspicious situations, helping identify individuals or actions, and providing reliable proof to authorities. It also offers peace of mind, knowing your neighborhood is better monitored for safety. This experience highlights how important it is for security cameras to have excellent video clarity, especially in low-light conditions.

I wish the Eufy cameras had the option to say “you’re being recorded” or something super basic like that to alert whoever may be around that you have surveillance. Im sure even if a sensor was sold that could be easily hidden with speaker functions, would be nice and not reveal the cameras location as well for those places you don’t want others to find out about.

We experienced a house break in and with better camera quality we could have identified the suspect sooner. This happened in July we lost around $6000 US. They is an ongoing trial for this and we would love better security camera with higher quality. About 3 weeks ago we also experienced an attempted car jacking we have police report numbers for both instances and camera footage for both. The car theft one was more troubling since we could not see the face of the intruder at all. The license plate was not visible either. We’ve had eufy cameras for about 5 years now and live how much they have improved
