Win the SoloCam E42 for Free! ☀️

Having used the S4 max and solo outdoor camera, I’d definitely love the 4k aspect in this camera. I have experienced the strobing light effects on S4 and I love it. It’s solar powered so charging would be one less thing to worry about. Plus having it on the local storage? :exploding_head:
This would be a great addition to my eufy ecosystem.

Besides recording, what other features would you love your camera to have for deterring intruders?

I have several Eufy SoloCam S340 cameras and I honestly love them. They’ve been reliable and give me peace of mind, but I always wished they had true 4K instead of 3K and a stronger way to scare off unwanted visitors. The new SoloCam E42 looks like exactly what I was hoping for, with 4K Ultra HD, 360° tracking, the new SolarPlus 2.0, and even red and blue warning lights to deter intruders. That combination really feels like the perfect upgrade for home security! :raising_hands: :heart_hands:

Besides just recording, I’d really like my camera to have extra features that make intruders think twice before hanging around. For example, I think it would be great if it had a flashing light, almost like the ones on police cars, so it’s really obvious that the camera is active and they’re being watched. A clear warning like that would grab attention and hopefully scare someone off before anything happens. I’d also like things such as instant phone notifications and maybe even a system that highlights unusual movement, so I can react quickly if there’s ever any suspicious activity. Having these kinds of deterrents would make the camera feel much more useful than just recording in the background.

I have 4 battery powered Eufy cameras all with solar panels attached to them (2) are the C210 and (2) are the 3 C 4k cameras all working great capturing wild life at night. and they catch a lot. The charge stays pretty well maintained. I have the Eufy solar panels mounted away from the cameras so they get the best sun. 1 of them is also mounted so we can rotate the panel easily in the middle of the day to capture the best sun exposure

My solar powered camera’s work great and have great battery life. I have the best luck making sure the panels are facing direct sunlight to help maintain the best charge. I have (4 ) battery cameras. 1 of the panels we are able to reach easily so during the day we can rotate it so it can take full advantage of direct sun all day as it goes across the horizon so we don’t have to worry about losing battery power and taking down the cameras accept to clean

This is a great opportunity that I always miss to participate in. I have the old models and have not upgraded due to income. For this reason, I wish I had just saved up a bit to upgrade. There were three burglaries that happened in front of my house and none of them captured the perpetrators or the video feed was so mosaic that it did not help identify the people or the video feed would cut off before something happened, and record after the incident already happened. Having a newer model that has better technology than the older models would definitely help me send the videos to the police and community to keep watch.

I have two Eufy Solocam S340s. Both have been running for 150 days on solar without a manual charge. I upgraded the solar panels from the stock 2.5 W panels to 6W panels. I experimented with 5, 6, 7 and 8 Watt panels. The 7 and 8 watt panels were a bit too bulky for me and hung over the device housing. The 5 and 6 watt panels were both good sizes so I went with the 6 Wat version. The cameras haven’t had any issuess.

After moving from ring I think eufy are the best on the market

Solocam E42 4 Cam sounds amazing. Good luck everyone!

Q: Besides recording, what other features would you love your camera to have for deterring intruders?

Recording is important, but I’ve always felt that prevention is even more powerful than evidence after the fact. I would love a camera with active deterrent features such as bright motion-activated lights, a loud customizable siren, and the ability to play automated voice warnings when movement is detected. Real-time 360° tracking that follows intruders would send a strong message that they’re being watched. Adding solar power for reliability and HomeKit compatibility would make it the perfect all-in-one security solution.

1: Currently I am shopping around for solar security cameras as the one I have currently gets blurry at times and there were a few times where it couldn’t even see what it recorded clearly. Especially at night there was an incident a while ago but since the quality was low, we couldn’t even tell what we were looking for. That prompted us to start looking at cameras with higher visual quality . The 4K is definitely a must have and is an upgrade from regular 1080!

(1) I really wish the video was clearer especially at night. Street lights are scarce where I live so getting a good video recording of intruders or passers by is key. Especially at night! My current WiFi doorbell does the job okey enough, but I have had a few scares at night and I can’t seem to get the face features too clearly. Sometimes the screenshot taken is also from the side or the back of the head and not the face which makes it even more difficult.

I would love better quality video

Prachtig om mijn hele tuin te beveiligen zonder stroom.
De beelden van Eufy zijn altijd prachtig.
Ik heb nu een bel en 2 binnen camera’s nu nog een in de tuin zou fijn zijn.

My Eufy S340 camera has been online for over 10 months without needing a charge! It’s all thanks to its perfect spot. I put it in a location that gets tons of sunlight most of the day, and I also tweaked the energy settings to use less power, with shorter recording time and longer interval between recordings. This easy setup has kept it going strong through all the seasons. I also love the 360 tracking feature.

I wish my really would love to win this as at night recordings my current cameras don’t share as much detail as I would like and I always get foxes and cats recorded at night :grinning:

I love my Eufy security cameras, but I wish the image quality was even clearer, especially in low-light conditions. While the 2K resolution is great, distant objects can appear slightly blurry. Enhanced zoom clarity would help identify finer details. The night vision works well, but brighter, sharper visuals would elevate the experience. Improved clarity would make monitoring my home feel even more reliable and precise!

My eufycam s330 has been working for 8+ months with only solar charging. I charged it initially when I got the camera but have not needed to charge it since. In the winter the battery does get a bit low by the end of the day since it only charges to about 60% but I have never needed to take it down to charge. I have absolutely loved it.

  1. Yes—one night I had motion alerts while I was out of town, and when I checked the footage, the person’s face was too blurry to identify. It looked like someone snooping near the driveway, but without a crisp picture it was impossible to know if it was just a neighbor, a delivery driver, or a potential intruder. In that moment, I realized how valuable higher resolution and clearer nighttime video would have been. The peace of mind of knowing exactly who or what triggered an alert is priceless.

  2. I’d love to see features that make a camera feel more active, not just passive. For example, a loud customizable audio warning like, “You’re on camera, leave now,” would be a strong deterrent. A flashing strobe light combined with a spotlight could also scare intruders before they even attempt anything. Integration with smart home devices would be great too—for instance, triggering indoor lights or sending a voice alert through Alexa/Google speakers when someone is on the property. The more a system makes intruders feel noticed, the less likely they are to stick around.

  3. My eufy solar-powered camera has stayed online for over six months without a single manual charge. The secret has been careful placement. I mounted the panel at a south-facing angle where it gets full sun for most of the day, and I made sure to keep the panel clean from pollen and dust every few weeks. Even during cloudy stretches, the battery never dipped below 80%. I also reduced unnecessary false alerts by fine-tuning the motion zones, so the camera wasn’t constantly recording cars or branches. That balance of placement, maintenance, and smart settings keeps it running nonstop
