Hello,
I just installed this doorbell.
Very easy and it works in combination with the homebase 3. The only thing I can’t get is that the blue ring around the push button does not light up? Is there a special setting somewhere to achieve this?
Hi, I don’t have that doorbell but I’ve noticed the blue ring around my doorbell button only illuminates when it detects motion, day or night. Doesn’t Auto illuminate at dusk.
In Power Manager if I set it to Optimal Surveillance the LED ring does not light at all.
Look in the General settings to see if you have an option listed as Status LED.
The only thing I can’t get is that the blue ring around the push button does not light up when someone is noted when it is dark, not even if you push the button!
The blue light has worked during installing the doorbell.
In notification tab both Doorbell Ring and Motion Detect are turned on.
I also use Color Night Vision.
The doorbell is wired connected.
This is not good, you don’t see the push button in the dark.
Hmmm. Then something’s not right, I would say.
Do you have any options in settings?
Like… Turn off doorbell, restart device
Hello jd164.
I’ve tried everything. Remove the doorbell again and reinstall it. Rebooted a few times, turned the ‘ring’ option on and off… Ring does not turn on when approaching or pressing the bell, neither during the day nor in the evening. Of course I installed the new firmware first.
When you say the blue light illuminates during setup or installation, is it solid lit or is it pulsating? Pulsating would mean set up in progress.
Anyhow try this… Press the doorbell button a few times in a row consecutively with a slight pause between to see if the ring will light up.
Only pulsting during set-up.
I already returned the doorbell to the vendor, I will wait and see what they say…
Thank you for your help, it is very kind!
This is one pain in the butt to fix, I played about with all settings mentioned in comment for days and still not got it working. Then tonight I tried in general/storage/pre recording on, even though I am on battery and after that it started working. Bugs in the software…
You’re welcome dvd220
Please update on what they say, thanks
Are you saying you had to turn ON Pre-recording for the doorbell’s LED ring light to illuminate?
Pre recordings on our off…no Blue ring working.
Pre recording can only be set up if the doorbell is wired in, in my case I’m battery only.
What i did in the settings was LED on, motion to human only and night video recording to that ones that doesn’t switch the led and IR off. This still would not make the blue led work on approach, it was only after I toggled pre recording off/on (even though it doesn’t stay on in battery only mode) that the Blue LED started working.
Go figure…
Try toggling it on, go through the splash screens of instructions, even though it doesn’t stay on, it was at that point it started working for me, just make sure you got the other 3 settings correct. Hope it works my friend
Interesting, that was going to be my next ask to move “turn pre-roll recording off and see if the blue ring illuminates” thinking it may be a power supply issue.
Yes the battery doorbell cameras can’t do pre-recording option, unless you have it hard wired, and yours isn’t, but you toggling it on and off and then the ring around your doorbell button starts illuminating/working??
Definitely a glitch somewhere.
Hello
Hope sorted
The current design is that the LED lights up when the doorbell is powered on. However, after the doorbell is wired and remains in a continuous working state, the LED does not light up. We have noticed this issue and are currently planning a unified lighting effect. We will sync any updates once available. Thank you for your support.
Finally a clear answer, thank you.
So I sent my doorbell back to the seller for repair for nothing!
This is a must that the bell lights up on the push button, despite the top lighting and the 2 LEDs at the bottom lighting up, it is almost impossible to see where to press the bell button when it is dark outside!!!
I really hope this can be resolved very soon with a firmware update!
Please answer us if this can be resolved with an firmware update!
That’s definitely how mine started to work, though not 100% satisfactory. Sometimes it only illuminates for a few seconds on first detection and it has gone off by the time the visitor has got to the bell.
All glitchy software and power supply issues.
I may look into getting it hardwired.
