Just wondering if anyone else has this issue. I have a homebase 3 and it is connected to my home wifi network. But some of my cameras wont connect to the homebase through my wifi network (because to far from homebase to connect directly) and only work independently through my wifi. Defeating the purpose of having the homebase. Does anyone know how to fix this?
There’s really no fix for this, all you can do is try to find a good central location for the home base where all your cameras are able to connect to it.
There is some talk about an eufy Wi-Fi repeater that will fix this issue, it’s in the works so I’ve heard…
I have a wifi extender that seems to help with my E330 pro cameras connected to my WiFi that are further away from the HB they are set up on the multi bridge option. I only found the one that my internet provider uses works the best for me (Xfinity pod). In there app it shows weather the camera is connected to the router or the pod.
Hello, Thanks for responding! What is The “muti bridge option”. this is not anywhere in the settings that I can find. Can you elaborate on this option for me and how to set this option please?
Hello, Thanks for responding! Well, I hope they work on fixing this issue soon. I will try relocating the homebase.
Multi bridge is only a option on certain cameras it is to either use your WiFi network or the home base network to connect to the cameras it will switch between what ever is a stronger. On my camera settings I tap on “general “ then wifi then it will give you a multi bridge option when you tap on that it finds your network enter your password then it thinks about it for a few seconds then if it is successful it will say congratulations. I’ll try posting a couple screenshots. I don’t know how many model cameras have this option
Photos posted out of order
thank you I will look but I don’t think my cameras have but 2 options wifi or HB. the issue is that because I can’t connect 2 of my wired cameras to the HB. I can’t turn on continuous recording.
Solar powered cameras, which I believe cannot do 24/7 recording / continuous recording cuz it will drain the battery.
Wired cameras are capable.
Your post is showing me you have the solo cam outdoor either it’s the e220 or the e210.
They have an option for continuous recording on to their SD card.
Yes, sorry, the reason I don’t use it this way is because it will greatly reduce the life of the SD card and I will have to replace before long. I was doing this but it ruined the cards in about 6 months and I had to replace them this is why I got a homebase and a 5tb HDD.
If you don’t mind me asking what brand and model HDD are you using? I tried a seagate 5TB it formated ok but playback was very glitchy so I returned it and put the original 1TB back in and I would still like to get a 5 but so unsure of what one will work correctly. Maybe the one I bought was just defective.
I don’t know if this will help but I have a Seagate ST5000LM000 5TB 128MB SATA 6.0Gb/s (15MM) 2.5" Hard Drive. I don’t know if it is the same as what you had. the playback is sometimes good and sometimes glitchy but if I go out and then go back in to playback it sometimes fixes it. I am guessing they made the software to be compatible with newer SSD’s not HDD’s.
I just went back and looked at the one I returned and lots of complaints and apparently seagate wont warranty them because they checked the serial number and they were originally part of a external hard drive that the seller took apart and sold as a new unit. I figured something was wrong when it only came wrapped in anti static plastic and not in a seagate box. Only good thing Amazon made them refund my money when I sent It back. Thanks for the info though I will do some more research on this
Your welcome I hope mine is going to be ok because I bought it on ebay. It was sold as new but who knows.
What kind of distance are we talking about? I have pretty good range with my hb3. Far better than wifi alone. Can you use an Ethernet cable to connect your hb (physically) to a wireless access point? So that it has a lan connection? Also consider any interference and the position and location of your homebase. Maybe try placing it higher? Near a window, away from stone, brick, metal, appliances, etc.
Just fyi: i think that e330(?) and the s3pro are the only cameras with the multi bridge option
My E220 indoor pan and tilt camera also has multi bridge after you join it to the homebase. It got that firm wear update awhile ago
I just looked it was the same model number. hopefully you will be ok. My playback was really glitchy like a skipping record. Video would jump around.
Well so far not to bad and I hope it stays that way!
