Hello,
I have a S340. After firmware 3.3.0.0 the battery seems to be at 70% and is not charging beyond this. It is current sunny and the solar panel is facing south(full sun) I did not have any issues with this before the FW update. I have 2 of these cameras and both are at FW 3.3.0.0. The older camera needed a solar panel replacement and seems to be fine. The newer camera(08/2025) is acting like it needs a new solar panel. This is very frustrating especially when you pay $200 for an item and it doesn’t work. Anyone else having charging issues? Any input is greatly appreciated . Ive reset turned of/on etc etc etc.
Regards,
Fredd
Apparently this is a larger issue then… The E340 doorbells are doing the same even when hard wired.
Does it not charge at all? Or the charging symbol is present but does not go over the stated battery level?
Same. I have an S340 purchased 3.5 months ago. I live in Tucson and it is positioned with full sun all day. Until the firmware update, I didn’t even know the battery could get below 70%!
After that change, the batteries continued to lose charge until they were down to around 30%. I tried restarting and that didn’t help, so I took it down, brought it inside, cleaned it just to be sure, and wall charged it until it was back to 100%. It has not been back to 100% since. Yesterday, it was 85 degrees here, full sun, and battery showed 69% at sundown.
When I check on it during the day, it does show “charging”, although sometimes it seems like I have to “wake it up” by checking. (In other words, it’s been sunny for several hours but it does not show charging when I first check. Then it starts.) I have also restarted it at least once more. It still does not seem to be getting past 70% charged.
Because of the timing, I assume this is related to the firmware update. At first, I thought it might be because it’s now (technically) winter, but we’ve only had maybe three days of rain and plenty of sunny days since. As I write this, it is at 68%, at 11:24am on a full sun day, currently 74 degrees.
Thanks for bringing this up, Fredd.

It was full sun and not charging. It went down to 64% before I brought it in and charged it via USB. This is definitely a BUG with this latest firmware update.
V, this is exactly the nature of my problem! I can’t be the only one that is experiencing this! How do we escalate this issue so that a firmware update can address this! I’d really like to see the firmware 3.3.0.0 description of what issues were addressed and any explanation.
To escalate it everyone experiencing this will have to contact support or at least numerous people experiencing the issue so that they’ll make it a priority. Use the app to submit feedback with the logs and send and email as well.
It was full sun.
was not charging. It’s a bug with the firmware! I was a Systems Specialist for 35 years, I recognize a BUG. It was fine before 12/5/2025. After that day it discharged to 61%. So it never charged to the full 97-100% and there were plenty sunny days. As I mentioned, it worked before the FW was implemented.
This is a problem with the battery pack; it’s a bug in the battery protection board. I had the same issue, and replacing the battery set fixed it.
My S340 started having battery drain issues in December also, then completely dead/offline in January, won’t even power-up now. Customer Service has been horrible, they initially agreed to replace camera, then in following emails changing & asking me to purchase a new camera & they would apply a “partial credit”…but will not define amount. Now they’re playing games telling me my actual purchase date is 3 months different from what my receipt (which I sent) states. I don’t know if I’ll ever get my replacement or if I’ll ever purchase another Eufy product if they are going to treat Customers this way.
The S4’s are even worse. I have both models and similar problems.
Short it out Eufy
I’m in Florida and I have the same issue.I thought it was a bad cell in the panel and I purchased a new solar panel. It was good for about two weeks and started all over again
im on my third one second replacement and once the sees the panel attached it just stops charging , so it will start and immediately stop .
How did you replace the “battery set”?
I can buy new battery packs here.
great question
. You cannot purchase a separate, swappable battery pack specifically for the S340 camera unit itself
