Are you looking for experiences with those two specific devices or experience expanding the storage in a HB3 in general. I put this SSD in my HB3 and didn’t have any problems.

Did you power off the HB3 before installing the SSD?
Try formatting it on your PC first, then install it into the HB3 to see if that will initiate it to format the drive and recognize it.

following, looking to buy one SSD

fotmatted it on PC FAT32, NTFS exFAT, and tried with HDD, both are good on USB1.
IF i reset S380 , i loose all Cameras around my Home and have to reinstall all of them again.

Maybe try restarting the HomeBase3…

  1. Open the app and go to HomeBase Settings > select Restart Device.

Or manually try it again.

  1. Unplug the power adapter and Ethernet cable from the HomeBase.
  2. Wait for approximately 30 seconds.
  3. Plug the HomeBase back into the power outlet and plug in the Ethernet cable.

Also double check to see if the HB3 firmware is up to date.

I have been through your recommended proceedure, but no change. I contacted Eufy Support, their solutions i had considered already before.
Since i bought this system in february this year im still in the warrenty time frame.

Question, if i reset S380 through the hole on the bottom, i properly i have to reinstall all cameras?

When you click on where it says 90% in the pic above what does the screen that comes up look like?

the screenshot indicates only clean not format. The remaining 10% of the embedded 16gb memory are for the system firmware. The Eufy support recommended a reset of HB3 or requesting rma.

There’s not much info on doing a factory reset on the HB3, I would assume that it would wipe everything out and remove your cameras from it and any settings you have set…
It appears to be your last resort to see if you can get it to recognize your hard drives.

So, I would go about it like this to avoid any problems trying to reconnect your cameras afterwards.

  1. Remove the hard drive.
  2. Remove, Delete Device, all device cameras from the app.
  3. Remove, Delete Device, HomeBase3 from the app.
  4. Have HomeBase3 powered ON and with an Ethernet cable connected, proceed with the factory reset holding it in for 5 to 10 seconds until you hear or see some confirmation.

After the factory reset of the HB3 add the device back to the app and let it do it’s firmware update if it doesn’t do an update then manually check for one.
After that then follow the procedure for installing the hard drive.
Then add your device cameras back to the app.
Good luck.

Thanks, at the moment best move, other RMA, which was already recoomended by Eufy Support.

Don’t think you have much choice at this point.

Is there an official list of compatible drives with the “3”?

Eufy FAQ - no specfic disk, but preferred companies.

I had many internet interruption yesterday: why does the HB3 not working if internet is not available, the local network was still ok?

Thanks for your help, but no change.

Ok, please let us know how the RMA replacement works out. Thanks
